Arroz Caldo

Arroz Caldo is actually a Chinese congee that was adapted to the tastes of the Spanish colonial settlers who patronized Chinese restaurants in the Philippines.

'Arroz means Rice, Caldo means Hot thus Arroz Caldo is Hot Rice.'

Arroz Caldo is Healthy breakfast. Warm meals in the morning stimulate and ignite our digestive tract and prepare it for the later meals. Calming rice for an upset stomach and a good source of carbohydrates providing energy for the active day ahead. Thus Arroz Caldo is a great source of Protein, Vitamins and Minerals.

Good for 8 to 10 persons

3 cups Glutinous Rice (Malagkit)
15 cups Water
1/2kg. Sliced Chicken Breast
1/2 cup Chopped Garlic
2 inches Chopped Ginger
3tbsp. Iodized Salt
1tsp. Pepper
1pc. Soft Boiled Egg
Chopped Spring Onion

Cooking Time: 12 minutes

1. Wash the rice twice separately or until relatively clear.
2. Combine all ingredients into the Imarflex Turbo Cooker inner pot.
3. Close the cover and slide to the left to lock.
4. Plug the Imarflex Turbo Cooker (IPC-600D) into the convenience outlet.
5. Press the RICE button, the default time (12 minutes) will appear on the LCD.
6. The icon will start blinking and will automatically heat up.
7. When the timer is done, tilt the pressure regulator valve to release the pressure inside.
8. Slide the cover to the right and pull up to open.
9. Transfer into a bowl then top with soft boiled egg and sliced spring onion.
10. Best serve hot.
