Kiampong

Kiampong is hokkien word for salty rice. It is very popular among Filipino Chinese and is commonly served during holidays and special occasions.

Great source of Protein, Vitamins and Minerals.

Good for 4 to 6 persons

3 cups Jasmine Rice
1 cup Glutinous Rice
300g. Pork Belly
100g. Dried Mushroom, cut into strips
50g. Hibi
4 cups water
2 knob Ginger, chopped
3 cloves Garlic
1pc. Red Onion
8tbsp. Soy sauce
6tbsp. Peanut oil
50g. Roasted Peanut
20g. Chopped Spring Onion
100g. Dried Squid (Optional)

Cooking time: 12 minutes

1. Wash the rice twice or until relatively clear.
2. In a separate bowl, soak the mushroom and/or dried squid for 5 minutes.
3. Combine rice, pork belly, red onion, mushroom, garlic, hibi, ginger, soy sauce, water and peanut oil into the Imarflex turbo cooker inner pot. Sprinkle with chopped spring onion.
4. Close the cover and slide to the left to lock.
5. Plug the Imarflex Turbo Cooker (IPC-600D) into the convenience outlet.
6. Press the RICE button, the default time (12 minutes) will appear on the LCD.
7. The icon will start blinking and will automatically heat up.
8. When the timer is done, tilt the pressure regulator valve to release the pressure inside.
9. Slide the cover to the right and pull up to open.
10. Place in a serving platter and top with peanut. Best serve hot.
