Salisbury Steak

Salisbury steak is a comforting dish made from seasoned ground beef patties, pan-seared and simmered in a rich mushroom and onion gravy. Often served with mashed potatoes or rice, it’s a hearty and flavorful meal perfect for any occasion.

1 1/2 kg. Ground Beef
3 slices ham, chopped
1 cup bread crumbs
2pcs. Eggs, beaten
1 cup spring onion, minced
1 cup parsley, minced
1/2 cup grated cheese
1 can cream of mushroom soup
2/3 cup water
Salt and pepper, to taste

1. Mix ground beef, ham, breadcrumbs and egg in a bowl.
2. Add spring onions, parsley cheese and 1/2 cup of mushroom soup.
3. Shape into small loaves or into patties.
4. Place on a greased pan.
5. Bake in a turbo broiler for 20 to 30 minutes at 350°F / 175°C or until done.
6. Add water to the remaining cream of mushroom soup. Pour over the loaves or patties.
7. Baked for another 10 minutes using the same settings.
8. Transfer to platter and garnish with vegetables.
